PwC Houston donates to four local nonprofits

PwC’s Houston office will be donating a total of $75,000 to four Houston-based nonprofit organizations, funded through grants from the PwC Charitable Foundation.

The four organizations awarded grants were:

  • First Tee of Greater Houston, a nonprofit geared to youth development programs using golf as a platform to teach life skills and character development.
  • Dress for Success Houston, a nonprofit aimed at promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by provided professional attire and a network of support and career development tools.
  • Houston Food Bank, a nonprofit that provides large-scale distribution of food and other products to hunger-relief agencies that provide direct aid to those in need.
  • The Periwinkle Foundation, a nonprofit that develops and provides programs to positively impact the lives of children, young adults and families who are challenged by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, and are cared for at Texas Children’s Hospital.

The PwC Houston office also provided 150 employee volunteers Nov. 15 to the Houston Food Bank in connection with the Big Four firm celebrating the 75th year of its Houston presence.

The 150 volunteers worked on the “carousel project,” sorting and inspecting incoming food donations for expiration, damage and signs of tampering. The volunteers helped provide 129,698 meals in one day.

"We're proud of the legacy we've had over the past 75 years as we've been part of Houston's growth," stated Niloufar Molavi, managing partner of PwC's Houston office. "I would like to thank our PwC Houston professionals for their commitment to giving back and we are thrilled to be able to support these four nonprofits."
