Savings website, program offering online education sessions

Online investment advisor and brokerage Betterment and savings reward program SaveUp have teamed up to provide live, educational sessions on social media site BigMarker.com.

The site, which provides free web conferencing and collaboration tools, will host these sessions on Feb. 2 and Feb. 8 as part of the All Things Financial web conference collection.

SaveUp offers tools for families that want to get their finances under control and SaveUp credits that rewards saving money and paying debts and can be played for prizes.

“Our mission is to help motivate Americans to improve their long term financial health,” said SaveUp CEO and co-founder Priya Haji, in a statement. “We want saving to be fun and something to look forward by making personal finance a rewarding experience. We believe that knowledge is an essential part to financial success. We are excited to be a part of BigMarker’s personal finance interactive series with a great company like Betterment.”

Betterment provides investment accounts electronically linked to users’ checking accounts.

“I founded Betterment because I wanted to make investing more accessible and easy to do,” stated CEO and founder Jon Stein. “Sharing knowledge and advice with our community is core to this mission. We’re excited to be working with BigMarker and SaveUp to help people take control of their finances.”
