The National Society of Accountants is offering a new online course aimed at tax prep firms looking for staff training or a refresher on preparing 1040s or other individual returns for the 2013 tax year.
The course is written by CPAs and Ph.D.s John O. Everett and Cherie J. Hennig and includes 11 chapters discussing a range of topics, including computing liability and filing, gross income, deductions for AGI, itemized deductions, capital gains and losses and selling a personal residence, tax credits and Circ. 230 issues.
Each chapter includes questions with immediate grading, feedback and unlimited attempts. A sample quiz is available and the online course comes with a downloadable PDF copy.
The course costs $300 for NSA members, or $425 for nonmembers.
“There are a number of new elements to the Tax Code this year, and getting training or a refresher on preparing individual returns is critical,” says NSA executive vice president John Ams. “Now is the time to do it before the crunch of tax returns hits.”
For more information or to purchase the course, visit the NSA site or call (800) 966-6679.
