Bob Montgomery

Vice President Airport Affairs

Bob is the Vice President of Airport Affairs for Southwest Airlines in Dallas, Texas, and is responsible for acquiring and developing all of Southwests� facilities nationwide. Additionally, he is responsible for representing Southwest to all airport operators and City Governments, and works with them to develop Capital and operating budgets and development programs. Bob has been with Southwest since 1977, and has held positions in the Operating and Finance Departments prior to filling the Properties and Facilities and Airport Affairs role. Bob has been responsible for the acquisition, design, and construction of more than 85% of all facilities occupied by Southwest, including all airport space, reservations centers, maintenance hangars, data centers, training centers, headquarters and other facilities. He has also been involved in most of the major airport developement projects occuring in the United States since 1984. He serves on the Oversight Committee for the Airport Cooperative Research Program (the ACRP) at the request of the Secretary of Transportation. The ACRP conducts and publishes research related to various Airport Issues, and Bob is the first Airline representative to sit on the Oversite Committee. Bob holds degrees in Finance from Texas Tech University, and a Masters of Theological Studies from Ave Maria University.
