Ira Platt has a demonstrated track record of identifying, negotiating and executing Specialty Finance transactions that deliver superior returns while using structuring tools to substantially mitigate the risk of loss. As a Managing Director at RBS Greenwich Capital from 1997 through 2008, he directed a staff of 12 while leading the Non-Mortgage Principal Finance business in committing almost $3.7 billion in capital and generating a 24.1% IRR on deployed funds. Mr. Platt�s investment mandate covered a wide range of consumer and commercial finance sub-sectors and included debt financing (with numerous distressed and pre/post-petition bankruptcy financing transactions), asset portfolio acquisitions, equity investments and other asset-backed securities transactions.Since leaving RBS, Mr. Platt has been an active investor in the specialty finance space, leading numerous successful investments in company platforms, financings and asset acquisitions. In addition, Mr. Platt presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors and/or an advisor to several specialty finance organizations and, from 2009- 2011 was the Co-Portfolio Manager for the Rosemont TALF Opportunity Fund, which returned a 17% net IRR to investors from inception through wind down. Prior to his tenure at RBS, Mr. Platt was an executive officer of The Aegis Consumer Funding Group, a publicly traded automotive finance concern and was employed by CS First Boston with responsibility for the design and execution of front-end trading systems to support international securities transactions.Mr. Platt is presently the Board Chairman of the Fairfield Theatre Company and received an M.B.A. from Duke University�s Fuqua School of Business in 1991 and a B.A. from Emory University in 1985.
