Lyle McCoy

Managing Director, Group Head Public Finance

McCoy was appointed head of BMO Capital Markets (investment banking arm of Bank of Montreal) expanding U.S. Public Finance and Infrastructure practice in October 2009; based in Chicago with current offices in New York and San Francisco the group specializes in providing debt structuring, underwriting, financial and infrastructure advisory services to all types of U.S. municipal and not-for-profit groups including state and local governments, public and private educational institutions, healthcare institutions, public power, as well as, port and transportation sectors He is a 27-year corporate finance industry veteran. Since joining BMO Capital Markets in 1982, he has held various roles of increasing responsibility. Previously he was a Managing Director in BMO’s Financial Products Group where he was instrumental in growing the firm’s Chicago-based U.S. derivatives practice. He has also worked in BMO’s Toronto and Vancouver offices in corporate and government banking where he focused on covering Crown, provincial and other government-owned related agencies. As well, he has held positions in structured finance and credit groups. McCoy holds an MBA from York University and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Economics from Queen’s University in Canada.
