Rick Schooler

Vice President & CIO

Schooler joined Orlando Health in October 2001 as Vice President\/Chief Information Officer. His current areas of responsibility include Information Technology, Telecommunications, Clinical Informatics, BioMedical Engineering, Supply Chain, Retail Pharmacy and a Group Purchasing Organization. Prior to joining Orlando Health, he was the Vice President and CIO for Central Georgia Health System. From 1991 to 1994, Rick served as Director of Systems Integration for the Methodist Hospital of Indiana. His previous employers also include Ameritech, General Dynamics, and Computer Systems Corporation. \n\nRick earned his Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis and his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Technology from Purdue University. \n\nRick is a member of the following professional organizations: American College of Healthcare Executives (Fellow), College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (Fellow and former Board Member) and the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (Senior Member.)\n\nRick serves on the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Regional Health Information Organization (co-Founder and Vice Chairman) and recently served on the Board of Directors for the Health Care Center for the Homeless (Chairman – Orlando). He is also a member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Purdue University College of Technology (department of Computer and Information Technology,) the KLAS CIO Advisory Board, the Healthcare Informatics magazine Editorial Board and the University of Central Florida Regional Extension Center (REC) advisory board.
