ILLINOIS

BDO USA, Chicago, was named one of the 2018 Vault Accounting 50 for the fourth consecutive year, ranking the 50 best accounting firms to work for in North America by Vault.com, provider of employer and university rankings for in-demand candidates. The ranking is compiled using a weighted formula combining quality of life rankings with overall prestige, and this year was based on a survey of 8,600 accountants.

Porte Brown, Elk Grove Village, was named one of the 2017 Best Places to Work in Illinois for the fifth consecutive time. The award is based on a survey and study and bestowed at an awards ceremony May 18.

MISSOURI

Anders, St. Louis, released the Anders Community Impact Report, taking an in-depth look at the firm’s staff’s commitment, connections and involvement in the past year. The report found that, in 2016, Anders employees: volunteered 2,151 hours, sat on 81 nonprofit boards, were active members in 140 local organizations, participated in 89 charitable sponsorships, and donated $180,000. NEW JERSEY

The New Jersey Society of CPAs was named one of the best nonprofit organizations to work for in the United States by The Nonprofit Times, ranking No. 39 overall and No. 13 among small employers (those with 15 to 49 staff members) based on survey data managed by Best Companies Group.

PENNSYLVANIA

Eisner Amper, Philadelphia, hosted a Survivor Island-themed accounting adding machine contest to motivate employees during busy season. Twelve teams participated in two rounds of competition that challenged team members to sequence sets of numbers using vintage adding machines, testing their speed and skills. Ultimately, Ryan Langan dethroned last year’s champ, Eli Silverman.

Drucker & Scaccetti, Philadelphia, celebrated the completion of an expansion of its 1600 Market Street headquarters and a brand makeover with a video of staff members and Philadelphians dancing in the office and street. Weaver entered a transaction with global consulting firm Charles River Associates, expanding its forensic and litigation practice and adding six new team members to Weaver’s Dallas and Houston offices formally associated with CRA.
