CALIFORNIA

Intuit, Mountain View, is launching its 2017 Firm of the Future contest, a global competition to award forward-thinking firms in Australia, Canada, the U.K. and U.S. with the title and $100,000 in prizes for the winner and runners-up. More details are available here.

BlumShapiro, West Hartford, provided leadership development workshops and exercises during its two-day “Dare to Lead” summer program for 35 college students in Connecticut entering their junior year. ILLINOIS

Sikich, Naperville, was named the SMB Central Region Partner of the Year and SMB Azure Central Region Partner of the Year by Microsoft. The firm was also named to the 2017-18 Inner Circle for Microsoft Dynamics.

INDIANA

Blue & Co., Carmel, was ranked as No. 9 in the large employers category of the 2017 Best Places to Work in Indiana.

IOWA

Honkamp Krueger & Co., Hiawatha, was named the Best Accounting Firm and Best Business Consulting Firm, and HK’s wealth management affiliate, HK Financial Services , was named Best Investment Services Firm in Iowa’s Creative Corridor by the Corridor Business Journal in an annual reader survey.

ISRAEL

Beneli Tax, Tel Aviv, entered into a collaboration agreement with Andersen Global in January 2017 and is now a full member firm of the Andersen Tax, operating under that name and marking the global association’s debut in Israel.

KENTUCKY

Blue & Co., Louisville, was named one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky, taking the second spot in the medium-sized businesses category.

Dean Dorton Technology, Lexington, announced a partnership with cloud financial management and accounting software provider Intacct to sell, implement, support, and integrate solutions for Intacct’s cloud financial applications. (Read the full story.)

Mazars USA was awarded a marketing achievement award in the print advertising campaign category by the Association for Accounting Marketing, marking the second consecutive year that the firm has won a Marketing Achievement Award from AAM, following their social media campaign award in 2016. The firm was awarded for its “Who is Mazars” campaign that included four ads in print, digital, online, radio, elevator and lobby displays. Additionally, the firm recently completed its third annual Days of Service, a volunteer initiative that more than 550 employees, including 70 partners, participated in by visiting more than 30 community and nonprofit programs in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Maryland, Philadelphia, Sacramento and Chicago.

Ernst & Young announced that the family enterprise business services practice of Headwaters SC, including James C. Bly, Jr., the founder and CEO of HWSC, has joined Ernst & Young LLP where he will serve as an executive director.

OHIO

Blue & Co., Columbus, ranked No. 1 in the large company category on the 2017 Best Employers in Ohio list, marking its sixth appearance on the list.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Scott and Co., Columbia, was named one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina for the sixth year in a row, based on the survey and awards program was created by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.

VIRGINIA

Dixon Hughes Goodman, Tysons, held its annual Count the Cans food drive in June, where employees and partners donated money, canned goods and volunteer hours to hunger relief organizations in 13 states, contributing a total of 773,741 pounds of food and more than 880 service hours during the 10-day campaign.
