CONNECTICUT

The Connecticut Society of CPAs named its 2017 New and Young Professionals to Watch -- three up-and-comers 35 and younger "who have set themselves apart as emerging leaders in the profession." After a general call for nominations, he three were picked by a panel of accounting professionals based on their professional or workplace contributions, community service, and involved in the society:
-- Nicole Belding, a senior manager at Fiondella, Milone & LaSaracina LLP, Glastonbury. was described as "a true savior for the firm" and "a pillar of knowledge" in her nominations.
-- Kevin Kiss, an assurance manager at RSM US, who "elevates himself and the people around him to be their best," according one of his nominations.
-- Marissa LaBelle, an assurance manager at RSM US, who "looks out for the collective culture in the office," according to one of her nominations.
Steve Beasy

INDIANA

Steve Beasy, Patrick Lee and Margene Zink have been named partners at Kruggel Lawton CPAs, South Bend and Elkhart. Beasy has more than 20 years of experience auditing retirement plans, and is a report reviewer for complex employee benefit plan audits. Lee is a practice leader for fiduciary tax services, and has been with the firm since 2011. Zink is the firm's first female partner, and began her career with the firm 15 years ago; she leads the firm's nonprofit practice.

MAINE

Sarah Belliveau, a principal in charge of the general audit staff and leader of the not-for-profit practice area at BerryDunn, was named a Woman to Watch by the Maine Society of CPAs. Belliveau develops internal and external training sessions and guides new staff members at the outset of their careers as a mentor and advisor.

MARYLAND

Daniel Dellon, a partner and head of the Tax Department at DeLeon & Stang, Gaithersburg, has been named to the City of Gaithersburg Economic and Business Development Committee, which is made up of 15 local industry leaders who meet monthly to share information, discuss economic trends and more.
Eide Bailly

NORTH DAKOTA

Jeremy Hauk, a partner in the Billings, Mont., office of Eide Bailly LLP, Fargo, has been re-elected to a three-year term on the firm's Board of Directors, while Ben Ellingson, the partner-in-charge of the firm's Mankato, Minn., office, has joined the board for a three-year term as a new member.
PBMares employees at the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank helped donate enough food for 129 meals and volunteered on-site.

VIRGINIA

WASHINGTON, D.C.

James S. Jackson has been named acting deputy inspector general for investigations at the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, succeeding Timothy Camus, who is retiring after 32 years of federal service. Jackson has served in the Office of Investigations since 2013.

Gerald Hodgkins, associate director of the Division of Enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission, is leaving the SEC after 20 years. He will be entering private practice.
