Jeff Silver was appointed principal of real estate assurance services at AGH, Atlanta, rejoining the firm after working in the private sector.

Gary Peric, partner at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, was appointed to serve on the director’s advisory group of the Illinois Department of Revenue by IDOR director Constance Beard.

NEW YORK

Frank Casal was appointed vice chair of audit at KPMG, New York. Casal, a former member of the firm’s board of directors who has been with the firm for 38 years, succeeds Scott Marcello. Also at the firm, Jackie Daylor was appointed national managing partner for audit quality and professional practice. Daylor, a member of KPMG’s board of directors and the professional practice, ethics and compliance committee, has been with the firm for 28 years, serving primarily large global clients in consumer and retail businesses, public and private.

Carol Larson, audit partner at Deloitte, was appointed to the newly created role of Champion for Women Executives in Finance for the CFO Program, which will entail supporting and engaging with women executives in finance and the C-suites of Deloitte’s largest clients; contributing to various thought leadership initiatives; and adding to the offerings in the CFO program, including the development and mentorship of the next generation of women.

Jodi Greco was hired as a family office advisor on the family office team, part of the private wealth group, at Prager Metis CPAs, New York.

Prof. Arnold Schilder was approved for a term extension as chairman of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board through 2018 by the Public Interest Oversight Board. The exceptional extension past Schilder’s normal term, which began in 2009, is due to the current review of potential enhancements to international standard-setting arrangements being undertaken by key stakeholders.

OREGON

Paris Powell, shareholder at Perkins & Co., Portland, was recognized by the American Institute of CPAs’ Standing Ovation program as one of 25 CPAs age 40 and under with contributions to the areas of forensic accounting and business valuation. Powell and the other Standing Ovation CPAs, recognized for outstanding professional achievement in specialized areas, were honored at the AICPA’s 2016 Forensic & Valuation Services Conference in Nashville.
