Tim Larson was named international tax partner at Grassi & Co., New York.

Shane Mason, tax supervisor at Raich Ende Malter & Co., New York, was awarded the 2017 P. Thomas Austin Personal Financial Planning Division Scholarship, presented during the American Institute of CPAs’ Advanced Estate Planning Conference. The annual scholarship is awarded to a CPA who has 10 years or less in the profession and less than 10 years of experience in estate planning.

Simon Moss was named managing director in the financial services advisory practice of Grant Thornton, New York.

Edward Pratesi, managing director at UHY Advisors, New York, was appointed to serve on the boards of both the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford and the Connecticut Estate & Tax Planning Council Inc.

Mark Warshavsky, partner-in-charge of the business valuation and litigation services group at Gettry Marcus, New York, was named the 2017 recipient of the Thomas R. Porter Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts during the NACVA/CTI Annual Consultants’ Conference June 7-10. The award is presented annually by NACVA to an individual who exemplifies the qualities that Tom R. Porter displayed throughout his life and within the financial profession, demonstrating exemplary character and leadership, and contributing professionally to NACVA and the industry.
