ALABAMA

April Harry has been named chief operations officer of Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors, Birmingham, succeeding Mary Elliott, who will be transitioning into the CEO role effective Jan. 1, 2018. Harry joined the firm in 2007.

White Nelson Diehl Evans, Irvine, announced a number of new hires: In the Audit Department, Jesus Barrios, Jeffrey Garrett, Tony Hoang, Brittany Weston and Alyssa Williams have joined the firm as juniors, and in the Tax Department, Sam Aarons, Jessica Burton, Taylor Giallo, Cameron Kraus, Mark Lumalu and Natasha Rizk have joined the firm as juniors.

MINNESOTA

Colman Collins has joined CliftonLarsonAllen Wealth Advisors LLC, Minneapolis, a wholly owned subsidiary of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, as manager of retirement plan sales and service for the Midwest Region. He will be responsible for assisting CLA LLP principals, directors, wealth advisors, and staff with selling and servicing qualified retirement plans. Prior to joining CLA, Collins was managing partner at The KNW Group and a vice president in the retirement division at Fidelity.

Jana Cinnamon has been promoted to the newly created role of chief operating officer of Abdo, Eick & Meyers LLP, Mankato. She will be responsible for operations of both the Edina and Mankato locations and report directly to managing partner Steve McDonald. Previously, she was the firm’s talent manager and oversaw both recruitment and retention.

Melissa Green has joined RubinBrown, St. Louis, as a manager in the Assurance Services Group, while Jim Peavey has joined the firm as a manager in the Wealth Advisory Services Group. Green will work in the firm’s Denver office, specializing in audit and tax services for affordable housing real estate partnerships. Peavey will be based in the company’s Kansas City office, analyzing and preparing quarterly review materials, developing risk and return scenarios, and assisting in determining optimal portfolio allocation and the development of investment strategies for clients in a variety of industries.

Emily Elliott has joined REDW LLC as an audit associate in its Albuquerque audit and ssurance team. She was an audit intern with the firm in the summer of 2016, and has since completed her Master of Accounting with a concentration in Information Assurance at the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management, and passed three parts of the CPA Exam.

Nicholas Dentice and Timothy Manley have joined the human resources team at Freed Maxick, Buffalo, as a career coach and recruitment specialist, and a training and development specialist, respectively.

Mark S. Warshavsy, partner-in-charge of the Business Valuation & Litigation Services Group of Gettry Marcus CPA PC, has been admitted as an arbitrator/mediator to the American Arbitration Association’s National Roster of Arbitrators.

Ernst & Young LLP announced two leadership appointments: Bob Patton, former Americas vice chair of advisory services, has been named Americas vice chair of accounts. He will be succeeded by Hank Prybylski, who previously served as Americas advisory performance improvement leader.

Kari B. Bohning, Amy Ford and Katie Ledford have joined Blackman & Sloop CPAs PA, Chapel Hill, as an accountant in the Small Business Advisory Department, a recruiting and marketing assistant, and an auditor in the Audit Department, respectively.

Margaret Anderson has joined the federal health practice of Deloitte Consulting LLP, Washington, D.C., working across the federal health, nonprofit, and the health care and life science sectors. She was most recently the executive director of FasterCures, a Washington-based center of the Milken Institute aimed at spurring cross-sector collaboration, cultivating a culture of innovation and engaging patients as partners.

Michael McDonald has rejoined Ernst & Young in the National Tax Department in Washington, D.C., in international tax services. He was previously with the Office of Tax Analysis of the U.S. Department of Treasury.
