Accenture to Build Nevada Unified Tax System

Carson City, Nev. (Sept. 16, 2004) -- Management consultancy Accenture has been awarded a four-year contract worth $27.9 million to design and build a new unified tax system for the Nevada Department of Taxation.

Accenture's Tax Administration System application will serve as the foundation for the new unified tax system. The company said that the new system will help the state address core revenue processing requirements such as tax return processing and revenue distribution. The new system will be Web-enabled, allowing Nevada taxpayers to access tax-related information and conduct transactions online.

Accenture said that tax compliance and audit requirements will be addressed using software from Revenue Solutions Inc. Covansys Corp. will assist with the conversion of the new system.
