AICPA Elects Former Iowa Governor to Board

New York (May 30, 2003) -- Terry Branstad, a former governor of Iowa and current financial advisor at Des Moines-based Robert W. Baird & Co., was elected as a public member to the board of directors at the American Institute of CPAs.

He will serve as one of three non-CPA board members.

A four-term governor, Branstad has consulted on four presidential campaigns and most recently served as chairman of President Bush’s Commission on Excellence in Special Education.

In a statement, AICPA president Barry Melancon said Branstad’s background in public service and knowledge of government would “greatly benefit the institute and its members.”
