Washington (March 6, 2003) -- The Securities and Exchange Commission said it is accepting nominations for the chairman post at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, a position that has been vacant since the November resignation of William Webster.
New SEC chairman William Donaldson, as well as the regulator’s commissioners and staff, will look at candidates from the political, financial and academic communities. Donaldson, who was confirmed last month, said one of his first priorities in his new post would be to name a PCAOB chair.
Applications will be accepted until March 14. A final selection may come next month.
