Armanino merges in Team Jenn Corp and Brenner Group

Armanino is folding in two new firms, Team Jenn Corp, a managerial accounting firm that also provides HR and payroll services, and the Brenner Group, which specializes in offering outsourced financial management to growing technology companies.

Both deals take effect June 1. Financial details were not disclosed. Armanino, based in San Ramon, Calif., ranked 23rd on Accounting Today’s 2017 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $195 million in annual revenue.

Each of the firms joining Armanino has approximately 40 people each, adding a total of about 80 to Armanino. All the staff from both firms are expected to join Armanino. Team Jenn has offices in El Segundo and San Jose, Calif. Its San Jose staff will join Armanino’s San Jose office. The Brenner Group is located in Menlo Park and will continue to operate from that location.

“The addition of Team Jenn Corp and the integration of The Brenner Group deepen and broaden our finance and accounting offerings for clients by integrating interim controllers and CFOs, executive search, and HR services to our existing outsourced capabilities,” said Armanino LLP managing partner Andy Armanino in a statement.

Team Jenn specializes in providing HR services such as hiring, onboarding, handbooks, benefits, compliance and payroll. “We’re problem solvers and we’ve built a reputation for being our clients’ right hand,” said founder Jenn McCabe in a statement. “That’s why coming together with Armanino is the perfect fit. By joining together, we’ll be equipped to consult clients at every stage of their business lifecycle.”

The Brenner Group offers temporary and permanent, part-time and full-time financial leadership to technology companies at various stages. “Our technology clients often have a need for several finance solutions, whether it’s financial leadership through an interim CFO or a chief restructuring officer, or a cloud financial reporting technology like Intacct,” said CEO Andries Verschelden in a statement. “This change gives clients access to a full suite of back office solutions so they can work smarter and more efficiently.”

Earlier this year, Armanino expanded in California by adding Bernstein Better Management Group, a business management firm that caters to the entertainment industry. Late last year, it also added Travis Wolff, a firm in Dallas, and Financial Strategies Consulting Group in Lafayette, Calif.
