Rockville, Md. (June 2, 2004) -- Aronson & Co. has formed a public charity aimed at addressing the needs of the children in the Washington Metro area.

The Aronson Foundation will award grants to organizations "who have dedicated themselves to providing services that enhance our world and help the people in it thrive and succeed."

Lisa Cines, the firm's managing officer, said, "For more than 40 years, we have kept our base of operations right here in the Metro area and have enjoyed the successes and support of the local business community. With the Aronson Foundation, we saw a fantastic opportunity to give something back to the people who have been there for us for so many years."

The foundation is a public charity that coordinates contributions from donors to allocate funds in two ways. Grants are awarded to charities working to further children's causes. The charities are selected by the Aronson Foundation Board of Directors. Also, contributions will be made to charities that have been recommended by officers, staff, clients and friends of Aronson.

"In addition to monetary donations," says Craig Stevens, an Aronson Foundation board member, "we are seeing a great interest by staff members as to how they can contribute to the cause."  He points out that that there are several ways in which employees will be able to lend a helping hand, including pro bono work, monetary donations and time donations.
