Avalara announces Crush 2018

Tax compliance software company Avalara will host its third annual user conference, Crush 2018, next year in Washington, D.C.

The event assembles expert practitioners across the accounting industry to discuss the future of tax compliance. Avalara customers, business and technology partners, accounting practitioners and CPAs will be able to attend sessions on emerging trends in tax and technology, and how they will affect their business.

Crush D.C. 2018 will be held May 9-11 at the J.W. Marriott in Washington, D.C. There will be more than 100 CPE-eligible sessions offered, conducted by experts, partners and customers. The learning tracks include sales and use, excise, global tax, tax document management, returns and legislative updates.

In response to attendee feedback from previous years, Avalara will provide a Learning Lab for one-on-one training.

Futurist Stefan Hyttfors will deliver a keynote on global trends in commerce and technology affecting the world of transactional tax. Hyttfors began his career as a photographer, and eventually founded the PR firm Wenderfalck PR in Stockholm, which he later left. Now on the speaker circuit, he talks about disruptive technologies.

“Avalara Crush conferences are built to help our guests master tax compliance, but our team comes away with more energy and ideas than we could have hoped for each year,” said Avalara CEO Scott McFarlane, in a statement. “This year we’re looking forward to more connections, more thought leadership, and more fun, all at the epicenter of U.S. tax policy, Washington D.C.”
