Change of Auditors

AFC DISMISSES KPMG: Fast-food operator and franchisor AFC Enterprises dismissed Big Four firm KPMG as its auditor and named Grant Thornton as its replacement.

The Atlanta-based parent to the Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits brand did not state a reason for the auditor change in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Previously, AFC had disclosed that KPMG had rendered an adverse opinion on its internal controls.

CONAGRA JETTISONS DELOITTE: Agribusiness giant ConAgra Foods Inc. dismissed Deloitte & Touche LLP as its independent accountant and named Big Four rival KPMG as its replacement.

The Omaha, Neb.-based ConAgra said in a federal filing that there were no disagreements with its former auditor on accounting matters for the company's last two fiscal years.

The change in auditors becomes effective when Deloitte completes the audit of ConAgra's current fiscal year.

INTRADO APPOINTS GT: Intrado Inc., a Longmont, Colo.-based provider of systems for 911 emergency services, named Grant Thornton as its new independent accountant.

Grant Thornton succeeds Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers as Intrado's auditor.
 
KEWAUNEE TAPS CB&H AS AUDITOR: Kewaunee Scientific Corp., a manufacturer and marketer of laboratory accessories, named Cherry, Bekaert & Holland as its independent auditor.

Cherry Bekaert succeeds Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers as North Carolina-based Kewaunee's auditor. A federal filing did not give a reason for the change. Kewaunee Scientific said that it had no disagreements over accounting matters with PwC for its two most recent fiscal years.
