Citigate Broadens Reach With Grant Thornton Alliance

New York (Sept. 9, 2003) -- Citigate Global Intelligence & Security, an international business intelligence, investigations and business controls firm based here, has entered the Canadian market via an alliance with the Canadian arm of Grant Thornton.

As part of the agreement, forensic accounting expert Bob Lindquist has taken on the role of Senior Forensic Counsel for Grant Thornton Canada. He retains his duties as Senior Managing Director with New York-based Citigate. Under the alliance, Lindquist will work closely with Ken Froese, service line leader for the Grant Thornton forensic team.

The alliance gives Citigate entrée to the Canadian marketplace and broadens the services Grant Thornton Canada can provide its clients, said Lindquist, who began his career in forensic accounting in Toronto in 1972 and moved to Washington in 1993.

“It made sense for me to involve Ken in my relationships in Toronto with the legal community because of his solid reputation in the practice,” said Lindquist. “This alliance allows me to service clients in Toronto using Grant Thornton’s infrastructure.”

“It will be as if we were one firm,” Lindquist said of the alliance. “What we’re bringing to the table are services that can complement Ken’s practice in Canada. One area is business intelligence and comparative analysis. We provide more of a global reach in the objective of acquiring financial information.”
