Crowe Horwath adds TRU8 Solutions

Crowe Horwath LLP plans to merge in TRU8 Solutions, an Atlanta-based risk consulting firm, effective Jan. 31, 2018.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Crowe Horwath, based in Chicago, ranked 8th on Accounting Today’s 2017 list of the Top 100 Firms.

As part of the deal, 15 people will be joining Crowe from TRU8, including three principals. Crowe currently has approximately 4,100 personnel and annual revenue of approximately $809 million for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017.

TRU8 specializes in the RSA Archer platform, a governance, risk management and compliance technology system. “Today’s market expects deep knowledge of GRC technology to accompany risk management expertise,” said Crowe CEO Jim Powers in a statement. “TRU8’s RSA Archer specialization will enable our clients to better leverage data and gain more predictive insight, providing them with lasting value. We’re looking forward to welcoming this strong team to Crowe.”

TRU8’s client base includes large organizations in industries such as finance, electronic exchanges, government and energy.

“Managing risk is a top priority for CEOs and their boards, because of the real damage we’re seeing to reputation, share price and revenue,” said TRU8 CEO Terry Dolce in a statement. “Leveraging TRU8’s deep specialization in RSA Archer will allow our team to bring award-winning GRC technology expertise to Crowe’s clients worldwide.”

Dolce became CEO of Tru8 last August. Before joining the firm, he helped create the market for governance, risk and compliance at Archer Technologies. Archer was later acquired by RSA Security, which in turn became part of storage giant EMC, and EMC became part of Dell. Tru8 expanded from its Atlanta headquarters, opening new offices in greater Washington, D.C, along with Kansas and Florida.

Crowe Horwath serves clients worldwide as an independent member of the Crowe Horwath International network of accounting firms. Last fall, the U.S. firm did a merger in San Francisco with Rowbotham International.
