Deloitte Resigns as Neoforma Auditor

San Jose, Calif. -- Deloitte & Touche has resigned as auditor for supply chain management solutions company Neoforma Inc.

Neoforma has been conducting interviews to select a new independent auditor for approximately the last two weeks, since the filing of its most recent Form 10-Q. The company expects to select a new independent auditor shortly and was admittedly a bit surprised by Deloitte’s move.

“We got the call Thursday night and I am certain they have their reasons, which they should comment on, but I can say it was not due to our internal practices or policies,” said Andrew Guggenheime, Neoforma’s chief financial officer. He added that Deloitte & Touche was not aware of the company’s auditor search, which began on the advice of Neoforma’s audit committee.

Guggenheime said his auditor search “is going well,” but declined to give a specific time frame for replacing D&T.

Deloitte & Touche confirmed their resignation from the engagement but declined to comment about it.

The firm audited Neoforma’s financial statements that were included in the Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2002 and reviewed the financial statements included in the Form 10-Q for the quarter ended March 31, 2003.

Deloitte & Touche had served as Neoforma's auditor since June 2002. The company provides software solutions to over 1,400 hospitals and suppliers.
