Deloitte taps Robinson to Head Consulting Unit

New York (April 10, 2003) - After scrapping plans to spin off Deloitte Consulting, audit parent Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu named firm veteran Paul Robinson as chief executive of the unit.

Robinson, 50, was formerly the global head of Deloitte’s public sector practice. At Deloitte Consulting he succeeds Doug McCracken, who recently announced plans to retire in June.

Recently, DTT announced that it was abandoning plans to spin off Deloitte Consulting via a buyout of the unit’s partners into a privately held entity called Braxton, making Deloitte the lone Big Four firm to retain its consulting unit.

Robinson’s appointment is contingent on approval by the firm’s partners.
