Southfield, Mich. (Nov. 1, 2002) -- Mike Harnish, the former chief operating officer of CPA2Biz, has returned to his public practice CPA firm roots by joining Plante & Moran as a manager at its Southfield, Mich., headquarters office.Harnish, who left CPA2Biz in April after two years with that Internet provider of services and products to accountants and their clients, is working in Plante & Moran's internal technology organization and its applications solutions group, which provides consulting services to clients. Early in his career, Harnish was partner in charge of technology for the Chicago office of Crowe Chizek & Co., a national CPA company rival to his new employer.
"Having competed against Plante & Moran in the past, I came to respect their organization and people, and am glad to be joining them now," Harnish said.
Harnish has been a consultant since leaving CPA2Biz. . He has also served on the board of directors of software vendor Knowledge Concepts, Inc., Valdosta, Ga., and on the technology advisory board of Ethicspoint of Portland, Ore., operators of an Internet-based system that enables individuals to anonymously report misconduct or ethical violations in companies, government agencies or nonprofit organizations.
