Scheffel Boyle raises $6.1K for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois
Illinois firm Scheffel Boyle CPAs recently took part in its annual Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraiser on April 24 in Edwardsville, benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois. Staff members raised $6,100 for the organization.
“Every year our teams go above and beyond for this cause,” said Scott Weber, principal in Scheffel Boyle’s Edwardsville office and the board of directors’ treasurer for BBBS of Southwestern Illinois. “It’s amazing to see them work so hard to raise money for this organization. I’m really proud of all they have accomplished.”
Scheffel Boyle’s two bowling teams, the Tax-Manian Devils and the Ten-Key Strikers, included 20 individuals responsible for their own fundraising. Bowl for Kids’ Sake listed five staff members as top fundraisers for this year's program.

N.J. nonprofit honors Sax partner for commitment to organization
Clifton, N.J.-based accounting firm Sax announced that partner Marqus White will be recognized at the Paterson-based charity Eva's Village inaugural “Lawyers and Accountants Dinner,” to be held May 31 in Morristown.
The organization, which seeks to "feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, treat the addicted and offer medical and dental care to the poor," will honor White, along with three other New Jersey individuals who work in the legal profession, for their services.
“I have a true passion for working towards the success and productivity of not-for-profit organizations, and helping them to become financially stable and structurally sound so they can thrive and flourish,” said White, per a statement. “I am absolutely honored to be recognized by such an influential nonprofit who does so much for the community around us in a way that not only exposes their organization to more people, but financially supports their overall mission.”
White currently works as a partner at Sax, as well as a tax leader for the firm’s Not-for-Profit Practice. White has worked for over 20 years in advisory services for nonprofit organizations, as well as consulting with local nonprofits.
