Reston, Va. (Jan. 14, 2003) -- C.E. Andrews, former global managing partner for Andersen's audit and advisory services, has landed at student loan giant Sallie Mae.Andrews will join the company next month in the newly created role of executive vice president, accounting and risk management, where he will oversee Sallie Mae's accounting, financial reporting and risk management functions. He will report to Vice chairman and chief executive Albert Lord.
Andrews served as head of Sallie Mae’s external audit team from 1997 to 1999.
Andrews, an Andersen veteran since 1974, became a partner at the firm in 1984. He served as managing partner for Andersen's mid-Atlantic region, and became global managing partner for Andersen's audit and advisory services in 2002.
