BearingPoint Inc. has named Joseph Corbett, former executive vice president and chief financial officer of international satellite operator Intelsat Ltd., as its new chief financial officer.

Corbett, 45, replaces former CFO Robert S. Falcone, who announced in November that he would retire early.

Corbett will be responsible for BearingPoint's corporate finance and accounting globally. He will also be a member of the executive leadership team, which is responsible for the strategic direction of the company.

Corbett joins BearingPoint after nine years at Intelsat, where he had served as CFO since 1998, leading all financial operations, including the company's transition in 2001 to a private company with customers in more than 200 countries. Corbett also previously held senior positions at McLean, Va.- based home builder NVR Inc. and the Washington offices of KPMG LLP.
