Former NYSSCPA President D'Arcangelo Dies

New York (Feb. 18, 2004) -- A. Rick D'Arcangelo, a former president of the New York State Society of CPAs and founder of D'Arcangelo & Co. LLP, died on Feb. 14, at the age of 85.

In addition to his service as president of the NYSSCPA from 1979 to 1980, D'Arcangelo served as chairman of the New York State Board for Public Accountancy from 1977 to 1978. He was also a member of the American Institute of CPAs Council, the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, and the Accountants Club, as well as a recipient of New York University's Meritorious Service Award. In addition, D'Arcangelo served during WWII as a second lieutenant for the 8th Air Force in England.

D'Arcangelo, a Mamaroneck, N.Y., resident and a native of Iselin, Pa., was a founder and senior advisor of D'Arcangelo & Co., a public accounting firm with five offices throughout New York.
