Kansas City, Mo. (July 10, 2003) -- National accounting firm Mayer Hoffman McCann now has four more firms in its fold, all hailing from Colorado.
The firm, with a presence in 19 cities and 144 shareholders, recently added Lake & Associates Inc. of Englewood, Colo., Rhode Scripter & Associates of Boulder, Colo., Angell & Deering and The Accountancy Group -- both of Greenwood Village, Colo.
The partners of those firms reportedly wound down their practices and bought stakes in Mayer Hoffman McCann.
Mayer Hoffman McCann spun off tax, technology and other consulting functions to accounting firm consolidator, Century Business Services, in 1998.
Although Mayer Hoffman McCann works closely with Cleveland-based CBIZ to provide clients with the services it can't, the two remain separate.
Angell & Deering’s Richard Angell, in a Denver business newspaper, commented that the move “allows us the opportunity to provide additional services.” His clients will also benefit from the national resources of a much larger firm, he said.
