FTI Consulting in Talks to Acquire KPMG Unit

Annapolis, Md. (Sept. 25, 2003) -- FTI Consulting Inc., a concern specializing in financial restructuring and litigation support services, is in negotiations to acquire the dispute advisory services business of Big Four firm KPMG.

An acquisition price was not disclosed. However the company indicated that it would finance the deal with its cash on hand.

Should the sale proceed, FTI said it expected it would close the deal in the fourth quarter. Subsequently, a number of DAS employees would join FTI.

KPMG’s DAS arm provides analysis and resolution in disputes via litigation, arbitration and mediation.
