GT Creates National QA Post

Chicago (June 10, 2004) - National firm Grant Thornton has named Jeffrey B. Frishman to the newly created post of partner-in -charge of tax quality assurance - a quality assurance and risk management role for the firm's tax services practice.

In that position, Frishman will work with Grant Thornton’s National Tax Office, and the firm’s legal department and professional standards groups, to ensure adherence to quality assurance and risk management standards. He also will be responsible for all tax quality assurance issues, including office tax standards reviews, client acceptance policies and Sarbanes-Oxley-related tax issues.

Most recently, Frishman was a partner with the law firm Winston & Strawn LLP, where he concentrated on federal, state and local tax matters, including audits, administrative appeals, administrative hearings, and litigation for individuals, pass-through entities, and domestic and international companies.

He also served for two years as an attorney-advisor to the U.S. Tax Court.
