H.D. Vest Prez: Advice Still Paramount

Las Vegas (June 2, 2003) -- Advice is still paramount in the investment advisory arena, the head of financial services giant H.D. Vest told reps here.

In today's tough economic client, clients will increasingly be looking for a wealth management approach, as opposed to a tax or investment solution, H.D. Vest president Roger Ochs told attendees at Vest Fest, where the Texas-based broker/dealer is celebrating its 20th year in business.

"Today, things are even more complex. Clients need professional advice," Ochs said in opening remarks Thursday. "Going forward, that will be even more important."

Because of the increasing complexity, Ochs predicted clients will be looking for more simplified solutions. "I think we'll see a move more toward brokerage accounts as a solution," said Ochs.
