Houston CPA Society Taking Nominations for Awards

The Houston CPA Society, a chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs, is accepting entries for its CPAs Helping Schools Recognition Awards.

The awards will be presented in the spring to six high school seniors, as well as a teacher, principal and volunteer who excel in endeavors to achieve excellence in education. Schools in the 13-county area served by the Houston society are invited to nominate high school students, a teacher, a principal and a volunteer for the awards.

High school students in Grade 12 are eligible for nomination, while principal, teacher and volunteer nominees may serve in any grade level from kindergarten through Grade 12. The society's CPAs Helping Schools Committee will select local winners from each of the categories from the nominations submitted. The recipients will be recognized at the society's annual awards program.

The Houston CPA Society is the largest chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs and the third largest CPA chapter in the United States, with more than 8,100 CPA members in the area. For awards criteria and nomination forms, contact Carol Spencer at the society at either (713) 622-7733 or spencer@houstoncpa.org. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2006.
