EPICOR TAPS NEW CEOEpicor Software has named Thomas Kelly as the company’s new president and chief executive, succeeding former CEO George Klaus, who will continue serving as executive chairman of the board.

Former president and COO Mark Duffell is leaving to pursue other opportunities, according to Epicor, but will remain with the company until the end of March to help with the transition and with the integration of Epicor’s recent acquisition of NSB Retail Systems.

Kelly has been a member of the Epicor board since January 2000 and chairman of its audit committee since 2003. Since May 2005, he has served as chairman and CEO of MontaVista Software, a provider of Linux operating systems and tools.

XBRL US GETS NEW CHAIRMAN

XBRL US has named Alfred R. Berkeley as the new chairman who will lead the board in 2008. Berkeley is currently chairman of Pipeline Financial Systems. Before joining Pipeline, he was president and then vice chair of Nasdaq. He succeeds Barry Melancon, president and CEO of the American Institute of CPAs, who served as chairman of XBRL US in 2007 and will serve as vice chair in 2008.

XBRL US has issued a second draft release of the taxonomies for generally accepted accounting principles and common reporting practices, which were developed under a contract with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The second release incorporates comments received through Jan. 18, 2008. A second draft of the Preparers Guide incorporating comments received through Jan. 21, 2008, has also been posted, and one more working draft of the guide will be posted during the last month of the public review. The taxonomies and Preparers Guide are currently available for ongoing public comment at http://usgaap.xbrl.us.

BLYTHECO MERGES IN BAKER

Sage Software reseller Blytheco said that it is merging another Sage Software business partner, Baker Consulting, into its firm, broadening its geographic coverage. The merger will expand Blytheco to South Carolina and throughout the southeast. Baker Consulting, a 15-person firm led by Tim and Danny Baker, has offices in Greenville and Columbia, S.C., and specializes in Sage Software’s MAS 500, MAS 90 and SalesLogix. Blytheco works with many of the same products, as well as with vertical application development.
