Mountain View, Calif. (Nov. 18, 2003) -- Accounting software vendor Intuit Inc. has split its Professional Accounting Solutions unit into two groups -- Pro Tax and Accountant Central.
The Pro Tax arm will be comprised of Intuit’s professional tax solutions and the Accountant Central unit will consist of Accountant Solutions, Accountant Relations and marketing.
The company has named Brad Smith to head the Accountant Central Group, succeeding PAS senior vice president Dan Manack.
Smith had been serving as vice president and general manager of PAS’ Accounting Relations arm.
Manack, who joined Intuit in January 2002 will remain until early January during a transition period. Pro Tax, will be led by Karl Grass, vice president and general manager.
Both Smith and Grass report directly to Steve Bennett, president and chief executive officer.
