Intuit Expanding Payroll Offerings

MountainView, Calif. (June 3, 2003) -- Intuit has unveiled plans for an enhanced online edition of its "Complete" payroll program and two other new payroll-related programs for small and midsized e-businesses.

The company said its Complete Payroll for QuickBooks Online edition; Complete Payroll HR Assistant, and E-File & Pay for QuickBooks Do-it-Yourself are all part of its "Right for My Business strategy" for systems that go beyond core accounting.

Complete Payroll for QuickBooks Online, is a Web-based payroll program whose data can now integrate seamlessly with QuickBooks desktop software and with the online edition of that accounting application.

Complete Payroll HR Assistant, available beginning July, helps business owners manage employee information and stay in compliance with federal and state laws. It integrates with informational already in Complete payroll.

E-File & Pay for QuickBooks Do-It-Yourself, which also integrates with QuickBooks, provides tools and tax tables needed to manage payroll, and updates to ensure that users stay compliant.  Intuit said the package also is "now available with "e-file and pay" options for federal and quarterly state payroll tax electronic filing and payment.

"Small and medium businesses are demanding flexible, easy-to-use solutions to manage their payroll, taxes and human resources, allowing them more time to focus on their customers and grow their operation," said Elliot Cooperstone, vice president and general manager of Intuit's  Employer Services Group. He further said the new offerings "all help deliver on those critical needs."
