Jerry Weiss Memorial Fund established at UIC

Glenview, Ill., firm Weiss & Co. announced this week that it has established a student scholarship at the University of Illinois at Chicago, honoring the firm's late founder, Jerry Weiss.

The Jerry Weiss Memorial Fund will be a permanently endowed scholarship, awarded annually to students who are seeking careers in public accounting. Six students were awarded the scholarship this year and honored at the school’s annual accounting banquet by Naomi Weiss.

“It is so rewarding to help these students achieve their dream of becoming accountants," stated Dan Fortman, managing partner at Weiss & Co. "Being able to award 6 scholarships this year in Jerry’s name was incredible."

The endowment is made possible by donations made by the Weiss family, friends, and Weiss & Co.
