Louisville CPA Firm Allies with Ernst & Young

Louisville, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2003) -- Big Four firm Ernst & Young has forged an alliance with a mid-sized CPA firm in the Louisville, Ky., area as a two-way referral network.

No money changed hands in the deal, which will fill gaps in both firms' service roster. According to a story in the Business First of Louisville newspaper, E&Y's Louisville office now has a working relationship with Carpenter, Mountjoy & Bressler.

E&Y has 61 CPAs in its local office, while CM&B has 32.

The smaller firm said the relationship allows them to tap into expertise at E&Y when dealing with client areas they rarely deal with, while E&Y can refer smaller projects and clients to CM&B.

"It just gives us the ability to be competitive in our marketplace," CM&B chairman Michael Mountjoy told the paper.
