The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, along with the Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association, announced Mike Shields, professor and Schaberg Endowed Chair in Accounting Emeritus at Michigan State University, is receiving the 2018 AAA Lifetime Contribution Award. Shields was presented with the award at the 2018 AAA Management Accounting Section conference in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The award highlights those who have significantly contributed to management accounting education, research and/or practice. The award is given via the Association's Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation, launched in 2012 by the AICPA and CIMA to recognize top management accountants.
