MSPC acquires Ennis Hargadon

MSPC Certified Public Accountants and Advisors, P.C., a firm based in Cranford, N.J., has merged in Ennis Hargadon, a firm based in Cliffside Park, N.J., effective Jan. 1, 2018.

The deal will add two principals to MSPC, bringing the firm’s partner number to 11 and total headcount to more than 70. Financial terms were not disclosed. Both firms specialize in employee benefit plans and labor unions.

“This was a natural fit for us as Ennis’ employee benefit plan expertise complements our existing practice and broadens our reach in serving labor unions and those who administer their plans,” said MSPC managing principal Jim Flannery in a statement.

MSPC plans to keep Ennis Hargadon’s Cliffside Park office open along with MSPC’s existing Cranford and Manhattan offices.

“This merger provides us with additional resources and a team of professionals who understand the unique requirements of working with labor unions and third-party plan administrators,” said Bill Ennis.

Patrick Trombetta, a member of MSPC’s Executive Committee, will still lead that part of the practice, which services more than 100 employee benefit funds and 40 labor unions. The department offers auditing, government filing compliance and consulting services to plan sponsors, trustees and administrators of single and multi-employer benefit plans.

MSPC dates back to 1944 and is a member of the Moore Stephens International Limited network of independent firms.
