Nancy Wheeler-Chandler Elected Chair of CalCPA

Redwood City, Calif. (June 6, 2002) -- The 27,000-member California Society of Certified Public Accountants has elected Encino, Calif. CPA Nancy Wheeler-Chandler as its chair.

Wheeler is a partner in Hecox, Horn & Wheeler, which specializes in tax, accounting, auditing and business consulting for closely held corporations, partnerships and individuals. She has been a member of the CalCPA board of directors since 1993 and is a past president of the CalCPA Los Angeles chapter.

In addition, Wheeler is a member of Assembly Speaker Robert M. Hertzberg's San Fernando Valley Business Advisory Commission, and serves on the advisory council of the California State University, Northridge department of accounting and management information services.

Other CalCPA board officers are Steven H. Wimmers (first vice chair) of San Diego, John R. Levy (vice chair) of Walnut Creek, Jerry Nightingale (vice chair) of Palo Alto, Christopher T. Yahng (vice chair) of Oakland, Jessie C. Powell (treasurer) of Redlands, Marc G. Parkinson (Education Foundation president) of San Jose, and David George (past chair) of Irvine.
