NABA heralds 2018 award winners

The National Association of Black Accountants has announced its 2018 national and regional award winners.

The winners will receive their awards at NABA’s upcoming national convention this month in Orlando.

Receiving the Frank Ross National Outstanding Member of the Year award will be Herschel Frierson, a senior manager at Crowe Horwath LLP.

The Rising Star award will go to Charles E. Barley, Jr., director of risk advisory services – IT at RSM. The Corporate Diversity Award will be presented to Microsoft.

The National Achievement in Government winner is Andrea D. Smith, director for fiscal service and data transparency audits at the Treasury Department’ Office of Inspector General.

The National Achievement in Public Accounting award will go to Richard J. Caturano, partner and national leader of culture, diversity and inclusion at RSM. The Community Service award will go to Sheri A. Marshall, CEO and owner of Umoveit-Wecleanit Enterprises. The National Achievement in Education award goes to Dr. Irvin N. Gleim, president of Gleim Publications, Inc.

In the regional awards, the Central Region Chapter’s President Award will go to Tyrrell Rodgers of the St. Louis Chapter. The Central Region’s Outstanding Service Award will go to David Harrison of the Columbus, Ohio, Chapter.

The Eastern Region Chapter’s President Award will be presented to Amber Adams of the Richmond, Virginia, Chapter. The Eastern Region’s Outstanding Service Award will go to Carolyn Dawson of the New York Chapter.

The Southern Region Chapter’s President Award will go to Brian Campbell of the Tampa Bay Chapter, while the Southern Region Outstanding Service Award will be presented to Shamber Gentry of the Research Triangle Park Chapter in Mebane, North Carolina.

The Western Region Chapter President Award will go to Catrese Kilgore of the Houston Chapter, while the Western Region Outstanding Service Award will be presented to Patrice Scully of the Houston Chapter.
