Newly Formed Group Gets Tax-Exempt Status

Richmond, Va. (Feb. 2, 2004) -- The newly formed National Alliance of Tax Business Owners, a nonprofit business league representing independent tax business owners, has been granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service.

NATBO, which hopes to organize independent tax businesses to compete more successfully with national firms, was organized in November 2003 by Charles E. McCabe, founder of Peoples Income Tax Inc. of Richmond, Va.

“NATBO is designed to support entrepreneurial tax business owners,” said McCabe. “NATBO will harness the substantial collective intellectual capital of progressive independent tax business owners to develop and educate its members in tax and general business best practices.”

“A common objective of NATBO members is to design a new tax business model that will be viable for the next decade and beyond,” he said.  “NATBO will also facilitate invaluable peer support for tax business chief executives to help one-another deal with common business issues and concerns that only fellow CEOs can fully understand.  And,” McCabe continued, “NATBO will be the voice of independent tax business owners to address the interests of its members with the IRS and other government bodies.”
