NSA Leader Appointed IRS National Director Of Public Liaison

Alexandria, Va. (June 30, 2003) -- Beanna J. Whitlock, known as a tireless advocate for both taxpayers and tax professionals, has been appointed National Director of Public Liaison for the Internal Revenue Service effective July 1.

In her new role, Whitlock, an Enrolled Agent and Certified Senior Advisor, will be responsible for IRS stakeholder relationships, including the practitioner community, the Tax Forums and the IRS Advisory Committees. Whitlock served as a member of the IRS Commissioner’s Advisory Group from 1996 to 1998 and has served on the Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee since April 2002.

Prior to her appointment, Whitlock served as Chair of National Society of Accountant’s Education and Professional Development Committee for 2002-2003. In 2002, NSA honored her as Speaker of the Year for her presentations at the Serving Aging America conference series. She also holds the Accredited Tax Advisor and Accredited Tax Preparer credentials offered by the Accreditation Council on Accountancy and Taxation.
