Thomson Reuters Checkpoint now includes guidance on business combinations

Thomson Reuters has added a new topic to its Checkpoint Catalyst: US GAAP information platform. Accountants can now access guidance on business combinations, a complex, transaction-dependent area of accounting and financial reporting. The new content incorporates analysis of Topic 805, Business Combinations, of the FASB Accounting Standards Codification, which is the authoritative accounting and reporting guide for business combinations under US GAAP. It also includes coverage of how Topic 805 interacts with other technical areas of the codification, such as guidance on consolidation (the concept of control), fair value measurements, income taxes, and share-based payments. QuickBooks Online releases July updates

QuickBooks has made two updates to QuickBooks Online for July. The first is the ability for QBO Plus users in the United States to manage projects directly within the platform. Projects allows users to organize all pieces of a project in one location, including associated transactions and time spent on the job. Projects also keeps track of profitability. Secondly, users can now perform partial purchase orders inside QBO — they can link a bill, check or expense to a portion of a purchase order instead of the whole thing, which is hoped to make it easier to keep track of transactions and see up-to-date expenses and inventory.
