Bethesda, Md., (Dec. 3, 2003) -- Reznick Fedder & Silverman, a large Mid-Atlantic firm here, has opened an office in Sacramento, Calif.
The new location will provide audit, tax and business advisory services to the West Coast and across the nation. The firm plans to hire 15 new employees from the Sacramento area immediately and an additional 20 over the coming year to staff the new office.
RF&S also has offices in Atlanta, Baltimore and Charlotte, N.C. The firm has grown from six employees to approximately 600 since it was founded in 1977.
“Our expansion to the California region offers a significant opportunity to continue to deliver outstanding service and strong industry expertise to our West Coast-based clients,” said managing principal Kenneth Baggett in a statement. ”We have been serving clients on the West Coast for more than 25 years and are excited to have an office there to serve community where we live and work.”
The transfer of resources will include approximately $2 million in revenue and two existing RF&S principals -- Beth Mullen and Mary Beth Norwood. The two have relocated from the firm’s Bethesda and Baltimore offices, respectively, to help launch and grow the Sacramento-based practice.
Mullen provides accounting, tax and advisory services to clients in the real estate industry. She specializes servicing public and corporate syndicated real estate partnerships that are eligible for low-income and historic rehabilitation housing tax credits.
Norwood has been an audit principal of RF&S for three years. She joined the firm 10 years ago and provides audit, tax and real estate advisory services for clients focused on real estate development, management and construction.
RF&S ranked No. 22 in the 2003 Accounting Today Top 100 Firms report, generating 2002 revenues of $71.9 million.
