Following the sudden death of managing partner Bruce M.Carlin, the executive committee of New England firm Carlin, Charron & Rosen LLP has named firm co-founder Robert H Charron as its managing partner."It is with humility and deep respect that I accept the position of managing partner," said Charron. "I intend to carry on Bruce Carlin's legacy of exceptional client service, and to pursue the avenues of growth for the firm's future."
Charron co-founded CCR along with Larry Rosen and Carlin in 1997. Before that, he spent five years as managing partner of Joseph B. Cohan & Associates, in Worcester, Mass. During his tenure at CCR, Charron had overall responsibility for client satisfaction, headed the employee mentoring program and served as chairman of the CCR Charitable Foundation Inc. annual event.
"Calling on Bob to assume the role of managing partner was a unanimous decision by the executive committee," said Larry Rosen. "Bob is an exceptional leader. His direction is surely needed to lead us through this transition and into the future."
As managing partner, Charron assumes overall responsibility for the accounting firm and for the seven affiliated companies within the CCR Advisory Group. He will also serve as chairman of the firm's executive committee.
Carlin died of a heart attack on Oct. 2 at the age of 58. His career in public accounting spanned nearly 35 years, during which he helped grow the regional firm to become the largest in New England. CCR ranked No. 52 on Accounting Today's 2004 Top 100 Firms list, with fiscal 2003 revenue of $30 million, five offices, and a total of 238 employees, including 15 partners.
