Rossotti's Swan Song Warns of Tax Cheats

  Earlier this week, IRS Commissioner Charles O. Rossotti made his last public speech as commissioner to the American Institute of CPAs. While he said that the groundwork has been laid for a more effective and efficient IRS, he acknowledged that much work remains to be done.

Speaking at the group’s annual tax conference, Rossotti said that IRS enforcement is hobbled by a lack of resources to go after anyone by the most egregious violators, leaving the door open for unscrupulous tax schemes in the future.
