SEC Names Gabinet To Head Philadelphia Unit

Washington (Dec. 6, 2002) -- The Securities and Exchange Commission named Arthur Gabinet to head the SEC's district office in Philadelphia, effective early January.

In his new role, Gabinet will be responsible for managing SEC enforcement and inspection programs in the mid-Atlantic region. He succeeds Ronald long who left several months ago for a private sector post.

Gabinet, 44, currently is a partner in Dechert, a Philadelphia law firm. Gabinet began his career with New York-based Willkie Farr & Gallagher. He joined Dechert in 1985 and has a strong background in commercial and corporate litigation, including securities law.
